Dream It Be It Logo

Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls is a signature Soroptimist program aimed at helping young women in secondary school navigate their future career paths. Through mentorship, workshops, and resources, the program empowers girls to overcome obstacles, set goals, and achieve their dreams. By providing guidance on career opportunities, education, and personal development, Dream It, Be It equips participants with the tools they need to create successful, fulfilling lives. Soroptimist of Fayette County proudly supports this initiative to inspire and uplift young women in our community.

Soroptimist introduced the Dream It, Be It program in 2015, and since then, over 98,000 girls worldwide have benefited from its curriculum. Participants report significant positive impacts:

  • 88% feel more confident about achieving future success.
  • 86% feel better prepared to pursue their career goals.
  • 91% have created actionable, achievable goals for their future.
Live Your Dream Logo

Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women is Soroptimist’s flagship program that provides financial assistance to women who are the primary earners for their families. The awards help recipients pursue education or training that enhances their skills and employment opportunities, enabling them to improve their lives and the lives of their dependents. Soroptimist International of Fayette County is proud to support this life-changing program, empowering local women to achieve their educational goals and realize their full potential. When women learn, families lead healthier lives. When girls attend school, they are more likely to secure paid jobs and contribute financially to their families and communities. Educated women are more likely to have daughters who attend school and reach higher educational levels.

Additionally, countries with educated women often experience stronger economic growth. Since 1972, Soroptimist has awarded over $41 million to 41,000 women through the Live Your Dream Awards, helping them improve their lives and those of their families. Education transforms lives, and this program has been recognized for its long-term impact.

  • 86% of recipients completed their education and raised their living standards.
  • 74% secured higher-paying jobs.
  • 93% reported increased self-esteem due to the award.

Period Positive

The Soroptimist of Fayette County’s Period Positive Campaign was a crucial community initiative because it addressed a basic yet overlooked need—access to period supplies. Many women face barriers in education and work due to the lack of these essential products. By collecting donations from local businesses and cash contributions, the campaign empowered women to continue pursuing their futures without interruption. This effort gained significant community support, ensuring that women and girls have the resources they need to thrive.
